Common terms:

  • C – Circle; your level of Cultivation. From 1 to 3.
  • T – Target; the level of cultivation for a target foe or object
  • Std – Standard Result; your average Result under controlled circumstances

Glossary:

  • Break – Reduce the strength of a dice. For example, reduce a d10 to a d8
  • Spend – Expend a dice and then Break it. For example, add a d10 to your current Challenge; then Break it
  • Boost – Increase the strength of a dice. For example, increase a d6 to d8

Random Rolls

You may be asked to roll randomly for various effects. This section describes a general rule for how to make random roles.

  • List the items or effects in line
  • Number them from 1 to X
  • Roll the best dice to fit the number of items
  • Match your result to the item in the list
  • If you land on a value not occupied, roll again until it hits

The storyteller has many random effects. In general, beneficial random effects occur on higher values and negative random effects occur on low values.
