Scenes

A Scene is the basic measure of pacing in the game. Each Scene is a distinct time and place. You directly control your character through roleplaying and Challenges during a Scene while the storyteller manages the rest of the world.

In between scenes, you automatically recover many resources. This is the “off-screen” portion where your characters automatically handle basic rest and maintenance.

The storyteller controls the exact length and scope of a scene; he has great leeway to create long scenes that stress you to exhaustion or short ones that pack a quick punch.

Remember that most positive bonus effects expire at the end of a Scene. Negative effects do not. Unfair, isn’t it?

In between scenes

After each Encounter, the following occurs:

  • Your Aura regenerates
  • Your Charge resets to full
  • If you are Bruised, clear it
  • Remove any Restraints on your present allies

What doesn’t clear:

  • Wounds
  • Penalties, Breaks, Conditions

You may swap out your Chakra equipment between Scenes.

  • Swap, set, or empty as you see fit
