Setting Dials

Fang kneeled beside Sara, close enough to smell, and whispered, “Now that’s good eating right there.”

Beyond their hiding spot, a doe flicked a wary ear and lowered her head to drink from a tiny creek.

“We have plenty of food,” Sara whispered back.

“Rations like the bottom of a boot!”

“You’ll survive three more days, Fang,” she teased, smiling in exasperation. Even if he was a Winter Wolf, not everything could be prey!

He flashed his sharp teeth. “I might. Or I might take a bite out of a delicious meal closer to home…”

“Apricot will blast you.”

“Your little nanny isn’t here…”

Sara raised a finger. “No, Fang.”

He relented with a sigh. “Fine, fine. The little traveler shows some spine.”

This little traveler has saved your fluffy tail a half dozen times now.

Finished drinking, the doe raised her head. After a moment, the brush rustled, and her mate stepped gingerly into view. They shared a nuzzle, and then he drank while she held watch.

Sara smiled to herself. “See?”

“Yep. Double the food.”

“No. The future.”

Living, growing, together. From the smallest vole to the mightiest eagle.

Bound together, in the giving and taking, upon the same river of time.

Harmony.

The world of Seln is meant to be customized to taste. Everything covered so far is meant to provide a broad baseline.

Here we will cover options for customization known as Setting Dials. You and your group should agree on these to flavor the world to your needs.

The goal of these setting dials is not to have all the answers. Rather, consider these prompts meant to whet your creative juices as you and your friends build the Seln Alora you want to play in.
